How to Choose a Beauty Salon in Herne Bay
Practical questions to ask any salon before you book: on hygiene, patch testing, qualifications, pricing and pressure to buy.

Aesthetic treatments are a considered decision, and they should be treated as one. Everything in this area of the salon starts with a consultation, not because it is a formality, but because suitability, expectations and aftercare genuinely need discussing before anything is booked.
This page explains how consultations work and what questions are worth asking. For which specific aesthetic treatments are currently available, and who carries them out, please call us on 07337 350130. That information changes and we would rather tell you accurately than publish something out of date.
A consultation covers your medical history, any medication you take, what you are hoping to change, and whether that is realistic. It is also where you find out what a treatment cannot do, which is at least as useful.
You are under no obligation to book anything at the end of it. If we think what you are asking for is not appropriate, or would be better handled elsewhere, we will say so.
Whichever clinic or salon you use, these are reasonable things to ask before an aesthetic treatment: who will be carrying it out and what are their qualifications; what product or device is being used; what the realistic result is and how long it lasts; what the risks and side effects are; what happens if you are unhappy; and what aftercare support is available.
Any provider should answer all of those without hesitation. Reluctance to answer, or pressure to decide immediately, is a reason to walk away.
It is also sensible to be wary of time-limited discounts on aesthetic treatments, and of anywhere unwilling to give you a cooling-off period between consultation and appointment.
Aesthetic treatments can refine and soften. They do not stop time, and they do not replace sleep, sun protection or a settled routine.
Results vary considerably between individuals, and photographs, including ones on social media, are a poor guide to what will happen on your face. A good consultation sets expectations rather than raising them.
We do not make claims about diagnosing, preventing or treating any medical condition, and no treatment offered here should be understood as medical care. If you have a health concern, please speak to your GP.

Questions
Please call us on 07337 350130. Rather than publish a list that may go out of date, we would prefer to tell you exactly what is currently available, who carries it out, and whether it suits what you are asking for.
No. The consultation exists so you can make an informed decision, and going away to think about it is a perfectly good outcome.
Regulation in this sector has been changing, and requirements differ depending on the treatment and where it is carried out. Ask any provider directly who will be treating you, what their qualifications are, and what insurance is in place, and expect a clear answer.
That is what the consultation is for. Suitability depends on your health, medication, skin and expectations, and it is not something that can be assessed over the phone or from a photograph.
No. We do not diagnose, prevent or treat medical conditions. If you have a health concern, please see your GP or a dermatologist.
